"An evildoer gives heed to false lips; a liar listens eagerly to a spiteful tongue," (Proverbs 17:4, NKJV).

Those that disobey God’s laws often welcome lies, unfounded rumors, and false accusations. Liars, in turn, like to listen to scandal, slander, and a spiteful tongue. In that sense, the kind of talk a person feeds on is an indicator of what he or she is at heart.

The Internet provides us with 24/7 access to rumors about celebrities, politicians, nations, history and just about anybody or thing you can imagine. This culture seeps into our minds and we begin to accept this behavior in our own lives and that of our friends.

What's the antidote?

"Two things I request of You (deprive me not before I die): Remove falsehood and lies far from me ; give me neither poverty nor riches - feed me with the food allotted to me...," (Proverbs 30:7-8, NKJV [emphasis added]).

Have you asked God to remove falsehood and lies from around you?
