"The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, but a good man will be satisfied from above." (Proverbs 14:14)

A backslider is one who slides back from following God and goes back to the ways of the world. That person will grievously reap what he sows, while the faithful follower will continue to be blessed by God.

Commiting to God's way of life takes effort and follow through, especially when the world around us is hostile. Sometimes we have to be satisfied with the knowledge that God is pleased with our fortitude, especially when obeying God means we may come under the ridicule or censure of others. Becoming a member of the family of God is a far greater reward than the most abundant riches of this life.

How do you refocus on God's way when the temptation to slide back arises?
