“Peace of mind makes the body healthy, but jealousy is like a cancer,” (Proverbs 24:30).

We see in the Bible what jealousy did to those who let themselves be consumed by it. For example, Haman was so jealous of Mordecai, that eventually it led to Haman perishing with his whole family (Esther 3:6, Esther 9:14).

The apostle Paul gave this instruction, "Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content," (Philippians 4:11). Being satisfied with our present situation, though maybe not ideal, is key to accepting that our lives don't always turn out according to our exact wants. God's ultimate plans for us are far better than we can imagine.

What is your current state: jealousy or contentment?
