Proverbs: The Power of Justice

“Justice makes rulers powerful. They should hate evil and like honesty and truth,” (Proverbs 16:12-13, CEV).

Wouldn’t it be great if this world’s rulers would apply this proverb? What a different world it would be!

It reminds me of a poem where the author wonders why the statue of justice is blindfolded and in a dream he removes the blindfold, only to find it was hiding yellow, corrupt eyes. Sadly, this is much too common today-but not in the coming kingdom of God!

As future God-beings in that kingdom, we need to be developing a sense of justice now. By asking God to open our eyes to see injustice as defined by His law, and what we can do about it in action or, certainly, in prayer, we begin to build this point of character for eternity.

How are you developing your sense of justice?
